Surf + Sound presents a world-class surf competition spearheaded by world champion, Joel Parkinson. Free to attend, we're bringing two days of exhilarating surfing to the Northern Beaches. Featuring Men's Open, Women's and U18 Junior divisions set against the iconic backdrop of Manly Beach.

Music Program

Across three weekends, Surf + Sound will come alive with a music program powered by local and international talent. Bringing together an extensive line-up of live performances & headlining acts across Manly Wharf.

Arts

Surf + Sound transforms Manly Wharf into a vibrant outdoor gallery. Curated by Jeremyville, the trail features large-scale inflatables, sculptures, digital projections and installations, free for public viewing across the three-week festival.

The art program celebrates emerging and established talent while inspiring connection through art. Welcoming celebrated artists from across Sydney, including Elliott Routledge (Funskull), Karlee Mackie, Steve Ormandy, Daimon Downey and Ozzy Wrong.

Joel 'Parko' Parkinson

World Champion. Triple Crown legend. Joel "Parko" Parkinson is one of surfing's most recognisable and respected names. He's a Gold Coast icon whose journey from grommet to World Champion made him a genuine legend of the sport. One of the driving forces behind Surf + Sound, Joel is bringing together a world-class lineup as the next generation of talent battles it along this iconic piece of coastline.

James 'Jamo' Willis

James (Jamo) Willis is an Australian-born entrepreneur, having spent the last 25 years based in some biggest cities in the world, building venues, brands and live entertainment experiences across New York, Los Angeles, London and beyond. He's the founder of the original Palm Springs Surf Club in California and the first Australian to build a wave pool in America. Now channeling that career back home, he's the founder & co-creator of Surf + Sound Festival. Blending world-class competitive surfing together with live music, art and community.

James 'Jamo' Willis

James (Jamo) Willis is an Australian-born entrepreneur, having spent the last 25 years based in some biggest cities in the world, building venues, brands and live entertainment experiences across New York, Los Angeles, London and beyond. He's the founder of the original Palm Springs Surf Club in California and the first Australian to build a wave pool in America. Now channeling that career back home, he's the founder & co-creator of Surf + Sound Festival. Blending world-class competitive surfing together with live music, art and community.

With more than 30 years of experience across real estate, hospitality, leisure and entertainment, Adam Flaskas is passionate about creating places where people come together. As co-founder of Artemus, he has played a key role in shaping vibrant lifestyle and cultural precincts across Sydney and Brisbane. Adam is driven by the belief that great places are built around experiences, creativity, and community. Bringing together art, culture, music and people.
