10 Years of 'Be About You'

In 2017, a Manly based band released a song that changed the trajectory of their lives. A decade on ‘Be About You’ is still the song that introduced the world to Winston Surfshirt, and the one crowds still lose it for.

What started as a solo project from singer, producer and rapper Winston Surfshirt - grew into a multi-piece collective built on loose grooves and old-school soul. That year's debut album, Sponge Cake, debuted at #1 and earned triple j Feature Album status. Since then, the band has gone on to release multi-platinum singles, tour sold-out rooms across Australia, Europe and the US, and become one of the country's most enduring R&B and soul exports.

Now, ten years since "Be About You" first hit airwaves, Winston Surfshirt returns to the song that started it all. This is a run built for the fans who've been there since day one and the ones who found the band through the song years later - because it’s always been about you.
